Shocking as it may be to some, starting a project of this magnitude during a pandemic was perhaps not the most sustainable decision. Unfortunately, much of my work was cut short. Some of it was for happy reasons (which I will get into in a little bit), but other reasons include losing someone, pandemic-related family issues, depression, and a myriad of other things I won’t bore anyone with… though the construction being done in my apartment building doesn’t help. On top of all of that, with the exception of my fantastic patrons, I’ve been creating content for free in between multiple jobs to try and stay afloat.
In order to keep up the quality of reviews, I’ll be continuing, but on a tighter schedule. Thus far reviews have all been around 500 words and were meant to be posted every day. But since the struggle to post so often has taken a toll, I’ll be limiting myself to 2-3 posts a week.
All that being said, the podcast will be picking back up, and there’s news: next month it will continue with chapter by chapter horror books. Episodes will be posted weekly, and will be available first to patrons.
Now, the good stuff: part of the reason I’ve had to peel back work is a film festival that will be taking place at the end of the month. Earlier this year, my good friend, seasoned filmmaker Michael Viers, and I decided we want to create a film fest with a focus on genre movies by minority filmmakers. A full-scale fest just wasn’t possible with current events, but we are hosting a mini Horror film festival on October 30th.
We truly have a lineup of fantastic movies. More information about the fest can be seen on the website, here: https://revenge-fest.com/
Thank you for coming on the journey with me, and spooky tidings to you and yours!
